Founder & President
Susan Israel, AIA, LEED AP
As an architect, artist, social entrepreneur and change agent, in 2008 I made a leap to do something more for our climate. What would motivate other people to do more as well? Something inspiring and visible. What was preventing people from acting? Fear, and lack of belief that their actions matter. I founded Climate Creatives to use art and design to engage people because data alone doesn’t do it: behavioral change begins with an emotional commitment. From my background in art and design, I know the power of creating: how it can teach, engage and inspire far beyond other methods.
Prior, I practiced architecture at Graham Gund Associates, Moshe Safdie Architects and others before founding my own firm. I participate in the Clean Tech Open NE as a Mentor, on the Friends of UN World Oceans Day planning group, and as a Harvard alumni leader including as an HAA Board of Directors member (emeritus), Class Chair, and a Founder of Harvard Alumni for Climate and Environment (HACE). I am available for public speaking and contributing articles. I attended Harvard College and Harvard Graduate School of Design.
